Bata Shoe Museum

Bata Shoe Museum
Walk through time at the Bata Shoe Museum in downtown Toronto.  This unique museum traces history through the shoes of civilizations and world cultures.  The Bata Shoe Museum collection includes more than 12,000 shoes.  Hundreds of shoes are on display at any given time in the museum’s four galleries.  In addition to an impressive collection of shoes as art, the Bata Shoe Museum is highly noted for its distinctive architecture and design.

Bata Shoe Museum Exhibits
As much as they are objects of art, the shoes on display at Bata Shoe Museum are important links to humanity.  The museum’s exhibits are carefully planned to educate and inspire.  Themed exhibits may explore such topics as fashion design, social status, anthropology, entertainment, and much more.  The museum’s only semi-permanent exhibit called 'All About Shoes', explores the evolution, use, materials and production of footwear over the course of 4,500 years.
